EA Finalizes Acquisition Of BioWare/Pandemic

EA has finalized their acquisition of BioWare/Pandemic, paying $620 million in cash to shareholders of the parent company, VG Holding Group, and issuing $155 million in equity to “high-performing” employees of the company. Furthermore, several key BioWare people will take VP positions at EA, while EA President Frank Gibeau will oversee both studios.

With the acquisition, EA gets 10 new franchises, including the most important and prominent ones, Mass Effect, Star Wars KOTOR and Baldur’s Gate.
