Bioshock 2 Rumors Remain A Rumor

Hrej.cz a Czech gaming site has alledged that an insider through 2K has tipped them off of an upcoming Bioshock 2, slated for a summer 2009 release. The game was currently in pre-production, and the biggest tip being that the game would take place as a prequel, probably leading up to the fall of Rapture as we discovered it in the original. Nothing has yet been currently announced, although Bioshock did perform relatively well and was a critical success, so a sequel is certainly not out of the question.

However, for now 2K has countered when asked about the rumor that they have “nothing to announce at all”, at this current point in time that is. Very likely these rumors could be true, or they could be an educated guess that may likely come true in time. I would love to travel back to Rapture again, so whether rumor or not, I do at least hope we’ll eventually see a Bioshock 2.
