Joystiq reports that it was contacted by a reliable source within a major film production company who has told them that a film adaptation of 2K’s latest blockbuster BioShock is being discussed internally. The source discloses that the studio hopes to bring the watery world of the game alive through extensive use of green screen technology, which was used in recent films like Sin City and 300.
If the computer-generated approach seems feasible, they will then move onto the secondary characters. As the site notes, it is not guaranteed to move beyond this phase, though if it does, it would make a pretty cool movie.
