Smash Bros. Delayed… Again?

Do you have your pitchfork and burning torches ready? Good, because it may be time to storm the Nintendo offices as several retail sources are beginning to report that Smash Bros. Brawl may be getting delayed until March. Several sources are reporting March 12th 2009 or the 31st (seems more like a temporary placeholder) as potential dates. Nintendo World Report has even heard from a source inside Walmart that the game has indeed been delayed until sometime in March. However, quite a few of the major retailers have not made any internal changes, so it’s hard to say whether this rumor is false, or if we’ll find out shortly from major retailers as they are updated.
So far Nintendo remains mum on the entire issue, if a delay was indeed true, we’d likely see one for Japan as well, as it releases in just a few short weeks from now. I’m all for game delays for the sake of polish, but on the doorstep of a release, another delay would not be welcome. If it is true, expect to hear basically one way or the other from major retailers as they confirm the delay within the next 24 hours.

Just before, I wrote up an article about Smash Bros Brawl and one of the points that I mentioned was that Nintendo managed to cover up the previous delay very well by announcing Solid Snake and then continuing this with the Weekly updates.
If the game is going to be delayed again, I wonder what they’ll do to cover this up.

2009? I’m guessing the editors just find proofreading to be over-rated and meant 2008. At least by the tone of the rest of the article.
