WiiWare Coming This March?

Nintendo still remains tight lipped about details for the upcoming service, but rumors are already flying that we can expect the service officially this March. The rumors are stronger than normal, as a Dutch Developer, Engine Software, which announced in a press release they are working on a new WiiWare title, also let it slip that the service would be launching in March 2008. Naturally Nintendo has already responded, but not to shoot down the rumors so far as to say nothing has yet become final.
“Nintendo has not made any official announcement regarding the launch of the WiiWare service.”
It sounds like the developer was certainly not off in their statement, as March 2008 is likely the line being fed to developers at the moment, but with no official announcement and the possibility of delays, Nintendo seems rather hesitant to make anything official. One way or the other we should be seeing the service sooner than later, as its built similarly to the virtual console, it’s more a matter of having enough titles to make it viable, rather than implementing the service. Mark this one down as a strong possibility, as we’ll certainly need something to entertain us after the release of Smash Bros in February.
