SCi Taking Loss, Delays Unannounced Tomb Raider Game

This AP report reveals that SCi Entertainment, the group that owns Eidos Interactive, has called off takeover talks with potential suitors; the company has also made it known that it will make an operating loss for the 2008 fiscal year.
The company was said to be in takeover talks with multiple suitors, with EA rumored to be in the game as well. The London-based group said that it believed the company could not be sold for its full value at the time and that it had received no formal offer from interested parties.
However, most interesting is the fact that the company has delayed Tomb Raider: Underworld, which is yet to be officially announced, to Christmas 2008. “By moving the release dates — including the new “Tomb Raider: Underworld” game — into the more lucrative 2008 Christmas trading period the company said it would better optimize long term value,” reads the report.
No other details on the game were revealed. A formal announcement is still in the cards.
