Bioshock Makes Its Way To The Big Screen

Personally, I’m not that big on videogame to movie adaptations. So far very little has done to impress, as all too often the translation doesn’t seem to work well. The same goes the other direction, as movie to game adaptations hold somewhat of a dim quality. But we all know there can be exceptions to that rule, and Bioshock would seem to be one of them.

The rumor mill is already abuzz with the possibility of a Bioshock big screen movie adaptation, and knowing the amazingly deep and interesting plot, there is certainly a lot of potential there. The information originated from Joystiq, in which they had to say, “A reliable source within a major film production company has told Joystiq that the two have been getting along famously, with a movie adaptation of 2K’s successful franchise already being discussed by the Big Daddies internally.”

Could a Big Daddy movie be in the works? It seems highly likely given the success of the new IP, and with a prequel to the title already possibly in the works, the timing would be perfect to bring in droves of fans and newcomers alike.
