Dojo Update: Captain Olimar’s Planet Stage

January 15th, 2008 Posted in Multiplayer, News, Wii by Brian Lockhart

In today’s Dojo update was a new stage based off of the Pikmin planet that Captain Olimar crash lands onto. It’s a pretty stylized and interesting stage, with quite a few unique play elements. To start out with (pictured right), the stage will yield pellets that can be redeemed onions that appear for points. The main portion of the stage itself is made of bouncy vines, and should prove interesting to fight on.

To the immediate left of the stage is a solid rock surface, which appears to also flood with water depending on the current state of the whether. Water should also prove to be a new and interesting mechanic to deal with. Even with all that packed in, the giant… whatever they are bug-creatures will also show up to the right of the stage to cause some mayhem, eating up unsuspecting foes.

It’s great to see another unique stage added to the mix, and this one in particular definitely has enough character and unique elements to set it far away from other more traditional setups.
