Boll Leaves Big Budget Filming
January 17th, 2008 by Rajiv Ashrafi in Business, News
Following up on the Dungeon Siege film bombing at the box office, Hollywood Reporter carries word straight from Uwe Boll himself that he won’t be making anymore big budget films soon. “In the future, I will focus on small films such as (the video game adaptation) ‘Postal’ or (the Vietnam war drama) ‘Tunnel Rats,’ ” he said. “These are films that represent my true passion, and they can be done with small budgets.”
All the films he has released so far have failed to garner either critical acclaim or box office success. As the site points out, the director will now have to finance his films through presales, which can be a daunting task since he is known not for his work, but infamously for the boxing match he had with his critics.
Boll is currently working on a “decidedly pulpy” game adaptation - Zombie Massacre.

I never though that Uwe considered any of his movies to really be big budget anyways. I’m interested to see if Postal is anything like he says it will be.
