NPD: Top Ten Software In December 2007

Along with the hardware sales for the month of December comes the software side of things. Usually software can be a bit on the boring side, especially when there are one or two major releases, it’s pretty easy to tell where things will wind up. However, with the amazing amount of software from this past year, plus the extreme Christmas season, it was truly anyways game.
No surprises, Call of Duty 4 and Super Mario Galaxy sit basically in positions one and two. It also speaks volumes for what many sites are considering those two titles for Game of the Year awards. Guitar Hero 3 for combined sales between platforms technically takes the number one position, while two pretty interesting surprises that Brain Age 2 and Mario and Sonic at the Olympics squeaked into the list. While Mario and Sonic wasn’t a great game, it’s proof positive that Mario and Sonic, Mario can sell games.
