Penny Arcade New Game Trailer

It’s so great to see Tycho and Gabe’s vision of adventure games come to life on the XBLA, PC and Mac. Originally when this game was announced, I didn’t have high hopes, as Gabe and Tycho really aren’t game developers, just long time fans and devotees to the genre. However, things are really shaping up, as the artistic and comic duo have meshed really well together to be what could be one of the very best offerings on XBLA.

We are in such an adventure game deficit these days, as far as the Xbox is concerned, that its hard to tell whether a market really exists for the genre or not. But one model that seems to lend itself well, episodic content, has worked for Sam and Max already. The Penny Arcade game will follow along the same tracks, and with a little luck, it’ll be a huge hit. It really will be interested to see how these two game critics game transforms, and what they have to say about the end product.
