The latest case of sad gaming news comes from Moscow, as Russia Today reports that a real-life confrontation between two Lineage II guilds left one dead.
It is being reported that a guild member killed a rival’s character in-game, leading them to agree to duke it out in real life. The ensuing fight left one so badly injured that he died from his injuries en route to a hospital. No charges had been filed yet, though one 22-year old man confessed to the beating.
The site also reports of other game-related acts of violence within the country, including a 20-year old gamer killing his grandmother after she announced it was time for dinner.
Sad times we live in.
