Xbox 360 RROD Explained
The infamous red ring of death has become synonymous with the Xbox 360, marring its reputation as a reliable console. Ever wondered why the console was so unreliable and broke so easily and randomly? This has been apparently answered by Jake Metcalf from 8bit Joystick, who interviewed a nameless insider at Microsoft who was involved in testing and manufacturing the console. According to the tipster, the system was rushed to beat Sony’s PS3 to the market. It also had purposefully cheap heat sinks; it is also implied that Microsoft may run out of systems with which to replace those that suffer hardware problems.
While all the above points make sense, they aren’t confirmed and may never be acknowledged by Microsoft. Recent improvements to the Xbox 360 hardware has made it a more reliable console, though.
