Years ago children could be heard arguing the merits of Sega vs Nintendo and which system would eventually come out on top. Years later we know that Nintendo triumphed but Sega has still persevered. As is the way with many competitors, after the victory they joined forces. Today Sega has announced that games for the Master System will be available soon on the Wii Virtual Console. The Master system was Sega’s 8-bit console that failed to take most of the world’s attention away from Nintendo. Games from the Game Gear (Sega’s handheld attempt) library will also become available. The first two games will be Fist of the North Star and Fantasy Zone which will be available on the Japanese VC service in February. No official dates have been announced for when these games will be available to North America and Europe, but they will be coming.
