Rock Band Instruments Shipping Next Month

Rockers rejoice – Harmonix and MTV Games today announced that individual instrument peripherals for Rock Band will start shipping to retail stores on February 12.

The first instrument to ship will be the drum kit for $79.99. It will be followed by the wireless Fender Stratocaster guitar controller on April 1 for $59.99.

“The release of standalone instruments allows Rock Band musicians to enjoy the full Rock Band experience, including drum, microphone and guitar head-to-head modes, creating a whole new level of competitive fun,” said Harmonix CEO and co-founder Alex Rigopulos.

The instruments were previously only available with the bundle which retailed for $169.99.
