We already know that Factor 5 has somewhat returned to Nintendo and will be developing a new title for the Wii, but what that title is still remains a mystery. However, many rumors are starting that the unnamed project is actually a revival of the Kid Icarus series, especially in light of Pit’s appearance in upcoming Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
An anonymous source has passed along this information to Kombo.com, along with a few other interesting tid-bits. Apparently the game will be built completely ground up for the Wii, meaning they will not be using their previous Gamecube engines, but instead be developing new tech. That’s exciting news, from a developer who has proven in the past they really know how to work the Gamecube. We can only imagine what they’d do with 2 Gamecubes duct taped together, which is by the way a quote from Factor 5’s Julian Eggebrecht, who is now surely eating their words.
I have to say I feel kind of bad for Factor 5. They are truly a great developer, but they’ve started off the past two generations betting on the wrong horse, and really can’t seem to catch a break.
