Meet Master Chief’s Parents in Halo: Recut
Budding filmmakers rejoice, for Bungie and Microsoft are holding a European competition where they see fans across the region create unseen adventures of Master Chief. The HALO: RECUT contest encourages gamers and filmmakers to be as liberal and creative with the iconic hero, putting him in unexpected places and scenarios. Some examples include Master Chief’s “Meet the Parents”, a Spartan high school reunion, or even a break dancing MC Hammer – it’s completely up to you.
The entries can be made using any format possible, ranging from the use of a traditional video camera, gaming footage, old-school animated or the latest video editing software – the point is to just be creative. Entries have to be uploaded to this website which will be available until March 21; one winner from each country will win themselves a Xbox 360 with a copy of the game. The winners will then be put through to the European final, with the overall winner getting all-expenses paid trip to Los Angeles to study for one month at the New York Film Academy, and more.
Full details and conditions can be found on the website.
