Every week seems to bring more news that the HD format war is going in Blu-ray’s favor. In the UK retailer Woolworth’s has announced that after going over their own sales data they’re dropping HD-DVD players and movies from their shelves. Over the holiday Blu-ray units sold ten times as many as HD-DVD units at Woolworth’s. While they’ll still offer HD-DVD products online, none will be available in stores.
