Marvel & EA Cancel Partnership

January 29, 2008

Last summer EA and Marvel announced plans to create a fighting game franchise that would feature characters drawn from Marvel’s extensive stable of characters. The particular EA studio that was working on the project was closed in November of last year. Since then the game has come to a complete stop, and Marvel Interactive has announced that the partnership is at an end. They still plan on going forward with the project, as there should be no doubt in anyone’s mind that a fighting game featuring classic characters such as Wolverine, Spider Man and The Fantastic Four would delight both casual fans of the comic book world and die-hard fans alike. Since the partnership with EA was so recently cancelled there are no words yet on where Marvel is planning on looking for a new developer.
