PC Games Only 14% Of Game Sales In 2007

January 29th, 2008 by James Hyde in Business, News, PC

The PC gaming industry has been somewhat in decline over the past few years, especially with the introduction of new and powerful consoles, and console exclusive titles. Shacknews reports that in 2007, PC game sales accounted for only 14% of all game sales, based on data by NPD. The number is most likely a bit higher, since NPD doesn’t track digital downloads, like games sold on Steam. The total industry saw $18.85 billion in sales in 2007, PC accounted for only $910 million.
