Though it has been unofficially known for quite some time now, Eidos Interactive has officially announced Just Cause 2, the sequel to the Avalanche Studios-developed open-world action game. In development for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 for release later this year, the game will feature an improved stunt system, new vehicles and 1000 square kilometers to explore.

“Remember everything you loved about Just Cause, then take it to the next level: vehicles, stunts, weapons, freedom, grappling hook, action, everything,” said brand manager Alex Price. “The game world is even more incredible in Just Cause 2 and Rico has done a bit of growing up, so expect quite a few new surprises up his sleeves.”
