Police Use Mii to Return Wii

January 30th, 2008 by Rajiv Ashrafi in News, Offbeat, Wii

The British police are a smart bunch: they are using Miis to find the owners of a stolen Wii recovered during an arrest made earlier this month. Reported by the Huddersfield Daily, sixteen Miis were stored on the console, including the names Seb, Pheebes, Nicks, Ellie and Evie among the roster. The police are hoping that by revealing the names of the Miis as well as the system’s unique Wii code, the victim will step up to reclaim the console.

“The Nintendo Wii looks new and is thought to have been stolen before January 1. It may have been a Christmas present,” police said. “If anyone has devised these characters listed and the Wii has gone missing, then please contact us urgently.”

The alleged thief faces several charges and will face court by the end of this month.
