SCEE Sued for Buzz

January 30th, 2008 by Rajiv Ashrafi in Business, News, PlayStation 2

From Gamespot comes word that Buzztime Entertainment has filed suit against SCEE for an alleged trademark infringement by trivia game Buzz. California-based Buzztime Entertainment claims that the Buzz series of games violated several trademarks established for their own products, including electronic trivia games for bars and restaurants and quiz services for mobile phones and cable and satellite services.

The company also claims that SCEE’s filing trademark of “Buzz!” is a “malicious, fraudulent, knowing, willful and deliberate” violation of its trademarks. Up to now, SCEE’s filing for the term is not yet officially registered.
