Battlefield Bad Company, Mercenaries 2 Officially Delayed

January 31st, 2008 Posted in Action, Adventure, Business, News, PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360

EA released a financial press release today, where it reported record earnings, and confirmed the delay of two key titles, Battlefield Bad Company and Mercenaries 2. Both games have been pushed to “Fiscal 09″, which begins on April 1. Mercenaries 2 has already been delayed once, and will most likely be released in the beginning of this summer, while Bad Company will have to wait until late summer, hopefully earlier.

All together, the reason Battlefield: Bad Company was put off was because EA may have been saving to purchase Take Two Interactive. After that went south, all they have to look forward too is BF:BC, Mercenaries 2, and FIFA 2008 to revive them from their odd income level. Because of this event, this will affect all EA’s upcoming releases for at least 6 – 9 months. Because Battlefield: Bad Company has been delayed to be released somewhere in EA’s 2009 fiscal year which starts April 1, 2008 and runs to March 2009, that’s when BF:BC will be released. While many game sites say June/July, it could be released as early as April 2008 or as late as March 2009. Hope this clears things up!
