It seems that ailing publisher Majesco has found an unlikely success in the Cooking Mama franchise, which has been a surprise hit, that has sold over 1.6 million units in North America alone, with over a million of those sales coming from the original DS title, which was originally released back in 2006. In fact, Majesco CEO Jesse Sutton remarked: “The success of Cooking Mama has been akin to catching lightning in a bottle.”Following up on that success, the company released a Wii game as well as a DS sequel last year, and will follow it up with a second Wii release that is expected to hit stores later this year.
