Leaving its unpopular, fat brother behind, the PSP Slim has received a firmware update in North America and Europe, introducing Skype voice chat functionality in the region. The software will allow users to make calls to other Skype members for free and traditional phones for a fee. A $20 microphone headset is required for the application.
The older PSP model won’t be able to run the software since it has lesser RAM than its younger brother. However, the update does add support for more PlayStation Network titles for the fat model.
You can grab the 3.90 firmware straight through Network Update in the PSP, or through Sony’s official website.
