It appears stylistic and actually quite interesting looking Eternity’s Child will be changing platforms, in a very interesting move. Originally headed towards the XBLA, Eternity’s Child cartoonist Luc Bernard, has gone on record that the game will be making the change in services, aiming for a Q2 2008 release and will be running a price tag of 5 dollars on the WiiWare service, when it eventually launches.
The stated reason behind the swap seems to have everything to do with the imposed file size limit on the XBLA. An extremely puzzling thing indeed. While no official file size has been implemented on the Wii, obviously games can’t very well be using up half of the available space left in any normal Wii. Granted, the drop from HD should render a nice drop in file sizes, but we only have to question if this is the real reason for the swap. Personally, I think it’s a smart move. When WiiWare initially launches, launch titles always experience a great sales advantage, and this service probably won’t be any exception. While the install bases are similar, only having to compete with a limited number of titles on a new service many will be excited to try out, Eternity’s Child will probably perform very well indeed. That is of course if it can hit its projected release.
