Gadget site T3, which isn’t known for having the best integrity when it comes to rumors (they have zero, actually), are claiming that their “insider” at Sony talked about a Slim PS3 (PSThree?) at CES, saying that the console should be expected around holiday 2008, Novemberish. Considering that it took 3.5 years before they slimmed down the PS2 and five years before PS1 was slimmed down, there’s no way Sony is releasing a new version this year - they barely just got production to a stable rate at a stable price.

Obviously, Sony will at some point make a slimmer version, mainly because of shrinking the internal components like CPU, RAM and graphics chips, but so far only the Cell is on 65nm - rest is on 90nm.
