It seems that the particularly handy 99 cent pricing for five indy songs, released on Christmas day, have come to an abrupt end. Hopefully, if you were a fan of either All American Rejects or 30 Seconds to Mars, you’ve already gotten your fill at the bargain sub-dollar price. If not, you’ll now be forced to shell out 2 bucks a piece (or 160 MS points if you like to deal in obscure exchange rates).
Harmonix had made a few comments about the pricing structure, saying there will likely be some discounts like this to come in the future, although it is very strange that the song prices have actually gone up and not down. The one question remains, will we see in the future old tracks reduced in price, to hopefully spur a few extra bucks in sales, or will songs continue to remain at the 1.99 price point for the entire lifetime of the title.
