The only region where it is yet to make a dent, Japan is getting a cheaper version of the Xbox 360. Microsoft will release the Xbox 360 Arcade model in the country on March 6 at a price of 27,800 yen (US $260 approximately), less than the 34,800 yen price tag on the Premium bundle.

As expected, it’s the same model released in North America, featuring no hard drive and a couple of family-friendly casual games. AFP points out only 260,000 units of the console were sold in Japan last year, three times lesser than the PS2.
