Capcom’s Profits Drop, But Forecasts Up

Capcom has announced their sales figure for the third quarter, and all in all, it is nothing to be ashamed of. Net sales for the company are up by 4.8%, while net income due to operating costs actually decreased by 17.8, putting the company at $33.5 million US. The results they blamed mostly on the weird Japanese market (which was acting quite off a few months back) as well as the worldwide economy, but despite of this, forecasts are up. They expect net income to be up 5.9%, in part due to the success of Devil May Cry to $58.2m.
On the software side of things strong sales fell to both Monster Hunter Portable 3 at 1.5 million thanks to the popularity in Japan and Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles which is pushing nearly 1 million units sold, mostly due to the success in North America. Zack and Wiki sales, something many people accused of being a flop are actually growing steadily according to Capcom, and the title still has to be released in Europe. With the obvious success Capcom seems to be having on the Wii, expect the support to keep on flowing.
