Those thirsting for a Crackdown sequel will be delighted to know that there is still a possibility of seeing the game, despite developer Realtime Worlds’ move to work on other projects. Microsoft Game Studios corporate VP Shane Kim revealed that the company’s ownership of the Crackdown franchise leaves open the option of developing the sequel with a different studio.

“We have a great partnership with Realtime Worlds, and they’re pursuing a different path from a company perspective,” he told GameLife. “So I wouldn’t say that it’s Microsoft not picking up the option there.”

He also talked about Crackdown’s commercial success, which many gamers point out is attributed to the inclusion of the Halo 3 beta, saying that “customers would like to see more in that space.”
