Bleszinski Says PC Gaming In Disarray, PC Alliance Forming
For years PC gaming was on top. The ability to swap out video cards and continually update the graphics capabilities of programs kept them ahead of consoles for a long time. These days things are swinging around due to the power of the Xbox 360 and PS3. According to Epic’s “CliffyB” Bleszinski, things aren’t going as well for PC game sales as they used to be and Epic is shifting their focus onto the console games. With the majority of PC gaming being MMOs, casual games and Sims-type games which focus on internet play, many other franchises are being more directly aimed at the console market. To combat this problem, some major hardware manufacturers including Intel, Microsoft and Nvidia have reportedly begun to plan a “PC Gaming Alliance” intended to keep PC gaming a viable marketplace for someone other than Blizzard.
