Denied: New KOTOR Title

Looks like we jumped the gun a little early, as EA has stated that the details seen during their analyst report slide show, were actually just demonstrating a title that Bioware has in their repertoire, but not actually one that is forthcoming. However, there is still a silver lining, as they have confirmed that Bioware is indeed working on a new MMO of an unknown variety. It has been rumored before that the MMO was actually based on the KOTOR universe, however, the slide itself put a fairly distinctive comma in between the reference to KOTOR and the MMO, either a dirty trick to throw us off their tracks, or in fact, the titles are not one in the same.

Despite the denial though, it’s impossible to tell whether EA was simply coming up with a cop out to throw us off the tracks, or if a sequel is not actually yet in development. With Bioware working on both Mass Effect and a new MMO, it is hard to say whether they currently have enough manpower to devote to a true KOTOR sequel, or if that will be something that waits for later on down the line.
