Nerf Making Zapper

February 14th, 2008 Posted in Business, News, Wii

Nerf has been making classic childhood toys for as long as I can remember. The joys of firing foam darts at friends, furniture, lamps and household pets. Sure, they told you never to shoot it at people or animals, but who ever followed the rules? Many of us still bear circular scars from foam dart battles gone wrong.

Having already cornered the market on relatively harmless projectile weaponry, Nerf is making another foray into the video game business. They’re not making some half-cocked shovelware game which’ll garner a hefty 2 out of 10 on review sites fortunately. They’re sticking to the peripheral world and are making a dual function Nerf gun and Wii zapper. The unit consists of a multicolored plastic shell that you can slide the Wiimote into, with the top exposed to allow access to the buttons and a trigger down below. If you want to fire darts instead of Wii signals you can plug in the plastic firing piece and fire away.
