GameTap revealed to Gamasutra that it will no longer be publishing Derek Smart’s episodic game series. Announced early last year, Galactic Command was supposed to be a four part space-sim series createdby Battlecruiser designer Derek Smart. It was slated to be released via GameTap’s platform as part of the company’s “Originals” line.
“It was a good game, it was very solid, but as we were going through, it ended up not being the right title for our audience,” explained company content VP Ricardo Sanchez. “We thought it would succeed better with Derek’s core base.”
He mentions that Smart is still planning to go ahead with the release, though details are unknown at this point.
