Okami Wii is just around the bend, releasing this March for the Wii. Developer Ready at Dawn has gone on record in the past that they had no intentions of adding anything to the title beyond the added Wii-mote functionality, it would be a port true to the original. However, there were a few glaring admissions that fans still demanded, and it is good to see that those demands have been followed through on.
When the game releases, it will now include 480p and 16:9, features not available in the PS2 version of the title. The developers have also put in some work to remove some of the effects used in the game, which has created an overall sharper and more polished looking version. We know Okami right up with Resident Evil 4 has earned the distinction of being one of the best titles of last generation as well as critically underplayed. Like the Resident Evil port to the Wii, it will be very curious to see if Capcom can once again reap the success, and this is one of those few last gen ports that I actually hope they do.
