Xbox Live is a great service that still leads the pack, but in order to maintain that huge lead, Microsoft needs to stay ahead of the game. It looks like they may be doing just that when the 3rd generation of Xbox is released, it will be followed by an overhaul of Xbox Live as we know it. The sparse details actually come via a Microsoft job ad posted on their careers website.

The ad asks if you “Want to be involved in the next release of Xbox?” And specifically details, “We’re building the games, the console interface and logic, and the server support for a totally new LIVE experience. Both the games and the dashboard experience will be deeply paired with dynamic server support to create a compelling, fresh scenario each time.”

Some very interesting stuff seems on the horizon, especially with dynamic server support. It would be interesting to see how Microsoft might utilize dynamic generated contact via their servers to change the way we look at games the next generation. Of course, everything is merely rumor at this point, but since it is up on the Microsoft page, we know they are at least considering these changes for the next console, whenever that might be.
