Magic: The Gathering Coming To Live Arcade

February 19th, 2008 Posted in News, Strategy, Xbox 360

As one of the first ‘collectible card games’ to bring the genre into prominence, Magic: The Gathering has enjoyed a successful longevity. In addition to many expansions that brought new cards and rules into the game the franchise has spawned comic books, novels and video games. The online edition featured on PCs is still a thriving community with over 350,000 accounts still engaged in playing, and soon the world of consoles will be joining the fun. A new Magic: The Gathering IP will be coming to both PC and Mac as well as Xbox Live Arcade. The PC and Xbox version will be developed by Stainless Games, the company behind the 1997 PC game Carmageddon. Mind Control will be helming the game for Mac, with a library mostly consisting of casual games.
