Keeping their promise of a surprise announcement, CD Projekt announced that they will release an enhanced version of The Witcher, their debut action RPG, in stores this May. Described as being “devoid of all of the major criticisms levied at the original release,” the enhanced version will feature bug fixes, stability improvements, increased interactivity and precision, among other things.

The game will also feature translation updates, as many fans complained that the game’s jump from Polish to English was quite rough, having the message come off as quite rough and often destroying the mood. It is said that the translation will be completely redone and will live up to the original. There will also be hundreds of new animated gestures, facial animation, lip-sync systems and more.

The Witcher Enhanced Edition is expected to hit Europe on May 16. The original game has sold over 600,000 copies worldwide to date.
