UK Bank Bans World of Warcraft Transactions

High usage of stolen credit cards to pay for World of Warcrack Warcraft has prompted UK bank Halifax to block transactions with Blizzard Entertainment, the game’s publisher. The bank said that the move was taken as many users had their stolen cards used in the MMORPG as well as other WoW related payments. However, Halifax stated that the move was not to undermine Blizzard or its billing system, directly pinning the blame on its users.

The bank can arrange payments to Blizzard if a ‘real’ customer personally contacts them, though. Blizzard is yet to comment on the matter.
