Xbox 360 HD DVD Drive is No More

February 25th, 2008 Posted in Hardware, News, Xbox 360 by Jeff Baker

hddvdComing as no surprise whatsoever, with Toshiba formally announcing the format’s death and all, Microsoft has announced that they will no longer be producing the HD DVD add-on for the Xbox 360. Of course, warranty and support for the drive will continue which comes as a relief to early adopters. So what does this mean for us, the consumers? Well it means that we can  pick up the HD DVD drive for rock bottom prices, while supplies last, along with a few super cheap HD DVD movies and pretend like the format war never happeend.
