Ultimate Band Announced

February 28th, 2008 Posted in News, Simulation, Wii

band2a.gifRiding on the recent surge of music-based games, Disney Interactive has announced Ultimate Band for the Wii and DS. Unlike other rhythm games, however, Ultimate Band will not require the purchase of any specialized controllers, instead letting players rock out with their Wii remote and DS stylus.

The game will let players form a band, offering the positions of drummer, bassist, guitarist or front man, with the DS nixing the front man for rhythm guitar. It will be focused around character customization and will also allow players to mix their own tracks and play online.

No specific tracks were mentioned, but Disney promised that it would offer “some of the very biggest names” from almost all genres of rock. Ultimate Band will be released this Holiday season.
