After Phil Harrison of SCEWS announced he would be leaving the company after many dedicated years, the wait was on to see where exactly this company big-wig would be headed. Much like Peter Moore, the announcement came suddenly out of left field, Phil Harrison has been picked up by Infogrames, a division of Atari, as the President, large sums of money were obviously also involved.
With Phil helming the studio, CEO David Gardner is hoping the two of them can begin a revolution in Atari, turning the company completely around from the bankruptcy scares that seem to have been floating around for many years. How do they plan on doing this exactly? By turning Infogrames into an online gaming company. Of course, we’ll still have a few years to see how this move changes the face of Atari, but it is most certainly a step in the right direction.
