‘Wii’ Love Zombies! RE UC Goes Platinum

One thing the media industry has latched onto with both hands is the public’s love for zombies. There are countless zombie films, from the more intelligent, social commentaries of George Romero’s films to the hilarity of the Evil Dead films and Shaun of The Dead. Even writers have latched onto this trend, with ‘The Zombie Survival Guide’ and ‘World War Z: An Oral History of the Human/Zombie War’ having found their way to bookshelves across the country. Video games have been in on it for a long time. Although not all the digital zombies are as easily dispatched as those in Snes classic “Zombies Ate My Neighbors” (a single blast from a squirt gun destroys them) gamers everywhere have shown they have a massive longing to destroy the undead. Few games have given the shambling, moaning horde quite so much screen time as the Resident Evil franchise has. Its most recent release, Umbrella Chronicles on the Nintendo Wii has gone platinum as of February 29th. This joins Resident Evil 4 as the second game in the franchise to go platinum on the Wii.
