Close to thirteen years as the richest man in the world have got to be enough for anyone. Forbes announced that Bill Gates no longer holds the top slot when it comes to bank accounts. Having slipped to a net worth of about $58 billion, he now trails Berkshire Hathaway’s Warren Buffet ($62 billion) and Mexican Telecom tycoon Carlos Slim ($60 billion). The current bronze medal holder has relinquished his day-to-day responsibilities at Microsoft in favor of devoting his time and energy to charitable works. He still remains Microsoft’s biggest shareholder however, so he won’t be flipping burgers any time soon despite the millions of dollars he gives away through the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
