Microsoft & Sony “In Talks” About Blu-ray Add-on

A short while ago Microsoft responded to rumors about a potential Blu-ray add-on for the Xbox 360 with the acknowledgement that if in fact the public demand shifted to favor Sony’s format they’d go that way. Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past few months you’re probably aware that HD-DVD has gone the way of Betamax, so Microsoft is now making good on their promise to accede to the vox populi. They’ve entered into talks with Sony about putting Blu-ray add-ons for the 360 on the shelves. I’d put good money down on Microsoft also ensuring they’ll have permission to put internal Blu-ray drives into their next-gen console.
