A Problem With Smash Bros.

March 10th, 2008 Posted in Action, News, Wii by Will Prusik

After the midnight madness release of Smash Bros. Brawl, a few gamers are finding themselves rather dissapointed that their late night huddle in the cold winter air was fruitless. Usually problems crop up due to bad discs or bugs in the game itself. This issue that luckily has only affected a small number of users is due to some problems with the Wii itself, not the game. The Smash Bros. Brawl disc is double-layered so they can fit all the wonderful content on there. Unfortunately for some, a few Wiis out there have a small amount of contamination on the lens, likely a residue from the manufacturing process that nobody had reason to notice before now, that’s preventing the consoles from reading the double-layer discs. If you’ve run into this problem yourself, there’s a cleaning service offered. It’s only offered to United States residents, which could mean that we’re the only ones who received Wiis that are contaminated.
