Gaming site Game|Life reports that weapons in Battlefield: Bad Company will be up for purchase on Xbox Live Marketplace. This comes straight from a screenshot produced from the recently released beta.

The in-game “unlocks” menu lists a variety of weapons, some of which read “buy this weapon on Xbox Live Marketplace” when highlighted.

The inclusion of microtransactions in EA games has become quite a worrying trend, having players buy the weapons instead of earning them through playing the game. Battlefield Heroes, an upcoming free-to-play multiplayer shooter, will also include microtransactions in a bid to support its free structure.
