Sega was none too happy when their key 2008 title Sonic unleashed was leaked, and they were forced to confirm the project in development a little sooner than initially planned. None the less, we have been promised a Sonic title that will be returning to the roots (like we haven’t heard that one before). But, with this recently released game play footage, it looks, at least some sections will be in 2D. Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails are all confirmed playable characters, so time will tell if this will be a worthwhile purchase.
No word on which system the game is set for, but the footage above seems only possible with either the PS3 or 360, so that’s where my bet would lay at least.
